Description
The half rack of ribs arrives with the sort of portion size that turns lunch plans into a minor engineering problem. Danny’s does big, properly cooked British comfort food: sticky ribs, roast chicken, a full English with serious bacon and sausages, and tea in a mug.
The smash burger and fajitas hold their own, while the daily pasta can go all-in with slow-cooked beef, mushrooms and Gorgonzola. Panini sandwiches are made with warm bread and proper cheese, and the Cumberland sausage sandwich is a dangerous thing to discover before a beach day.
Thai dishes sit on the menu too, and the vegetarian choices get more thought than a token plate of sad vegetables. The room is small, cosy and plain, with the food doing most of the decorating.
Breakfast is the strongest play for anyone missing a fry-up, especially after too many mornings negotiating with toast and instant coffee. Morty the dog adds a bit of local colour, presumably unpaid and entirely unconcerned by employment law.
