Diamond Cliff Restaurant & Resort
Description
Pla Goong and clear tom yum with sea bass are the Thai dishes to back here, both sharp, fresh and built for the sea view. The grilled lobster with garlic sauce, steamed sea bass with lime and squid in black ink sauce give the seafood menu proper range.
The terrace runs along the cliff above Nui Beach, so even the less glamorous tables get a wide Andaman view. Sunset is the draw, obviously, but the changing sky after it has finished showing off is the better bit (nature does enjoy an encore).
Massaman curry with roti, khao soi gai and grilled beef salad hold their own against the seafood. There is also a vegetarian menu, decent coffee, fruit smoothies and coconut Americanos for a long afternoon above the cove.
Down the stairs sits a small beach and beach bar, turning lunch into a full detour. Book a sunset table; the deck fills fast, and the seats along the cliff edge are the ones worth having.
