Description

Chocolate and strawberry-yoghurt ice cream are the obvious starting point, but the coconut-milk flavours earn equal attention. Half the cabinet is vegan, and every flavour gets a proper tasting spoon before commitment – a dangerously civilised system for an ice-cream stop.

Pad See Ew is the Thai dish to back here: broad noodles, cooked fresh, with the deep savoury hit the dish needs. Sweet-and-sour chicken also lands well, while the bagel with eggs and bacon handles breakfast without pretending a bagel has moved to a tropical island for spiritual growth.

Mango smoothies arrive thick, cold and built from ripe fruit, not pink syrup and a prayer. The menu runs from Thai plates to brunch and dessert, so lunch can become dinner with very little resistance.

Air-conditioned indoor seating is a useful refuge off the beach road, especially at midday. Food takes time because it is made to order; sit down, cool off, and leave room for a second look at the ice-cream cabinet.
