Turtle Beach Restaurant
Description
Green curry risotto is the clever order here: Thai heat folded into a creamy rice dish that has no business working this well, yet does. Duck pasta, properly hefty steaks with the house sauce, and big burgers keep the menu far away from beach-bar autopilot.
The tables face Long Beach, with sunset directly in front and cocktails doing their bit to delay dinner. Pina coladas, cider and chilli-lime hot nuts all have a following, while the sticky toffee pudding is an oddly excellent bit of Britain washed ashore on Koh Lanta.
Evenings can include a short fire show on the sand, plus a playlist that starts chilled and occasionally decides it has ambitions. Book a sunset table in advance; this stretch of beach does not need much encouragement to fill up.
Breakfast deserves more credit than it gets. The tuna bowl, avocado toast, mango bowl and smoothies make a solid daytime stop, especially if a full English seems like excessive engineering before noon.
