Yellow Bistro
Description
Barracuda arrives fried with herbal spices, folded into Penang curry, or cooked chu-chi style – and the chu-chi version is the one to chase. The fish is fresh, the spice has proper southern Thai bite, and the plate doesn’t get lost under decorative parsley attempting a second career.
Tom Yum and Tom Ka carry the same sharp, balanced seasoning, while the papaya salad comes hot even after a request to soften it. Crispy pork with kale, yellow noodles, Lone Poo, and roasted potatoes all have regulars for good reason. The Pad Thai is a large, shareable plate, not a polite little side project.
Yellow Bistro sits about 100 metres off the main road, close enough for an easy walk but far enough to avoid the full roadside racket. The room is simple, clean, and relaxed, with takeaway ticking along beside the tables.
Thai cooking is the point here; the menu also wanders into carbonara, fish and chips, wraps, and smoothies. Stick with barracuda, soups, curries, and southern dishes, then finish with the thick mango smoothie made from mango and ice.
