Description
Barracuda is the point of Up To You, whether it arrives grilled whole for two, folded into Panang curry, or hit with dry curry’s sweet-sour heat. The fish is fresh, portions are generous, and the garlic tuna steak deserves equal attention.
At the far southern end of Relax Bay, tables sit directly on the sand with the sea doing most of the decorating. Sunset here beats another roadside meal under fluorescent tubes, which have never improved a coconut shake.
The kitchen leans full Thai flavour on its fish curries, with green curry, Massaman and Pad Thai all in regular rotation. Fried bananas and mango sticky rice are the correct finishing move, particularly after a beer or one of the cheap cocktails.
It is a small, rustic beach restaurant with a calm, bare-footed pace, not a polished dining room. Food can take time when the place fills, so settle in before sunset and let the barracuda earn the wait.
