Richey Bar And Restaurant
Description
BBQ pork ribs with baked potato and corn are the reason to stop at Richey’s, especially around sunset on Long Beach. The grill also turns out monkfish, squid, chicken kebabs and whole fish, with seafood laid out up front for choosing.
Beach tables put your feet in the sand, while the retro indoor room takes over in the wetter months. There are beach chairs, cold drinks, espresso and enough shade for a lazy lunch that accidentally becomes late afternoon. Smoking is allowed at the tables.
Thai food holds its own beside the grill. Seafood phanang curry, yellow curry, spicy curries, pad thai, chicken satay and mango sticky rice all belong on the menu. Garlic fried potatoes and mixed vegetables with chicken make a solid break from the usual beach-menu autopilot.
Sunset is the prime slot, with live music in the late afternoon and a beach view that gives dinner something to look at besides its own sauce. The room is dark after nightfall, so take the outside tables before the sun disappears.
