Jadoy Seafood
Description
White snapper in lime sauce, charcoal-grilled fish and pepper crab put Jadoy firmly on the seafood map. The fish sits at the front of the roadside shop, then lands on the table with chilli, garlic, lime and enough sauce to justify extra rice.
Tiger prawns are the right call for a proper seafood meal, and the crab comes loose from its shell without a wrestling match. Cashew prawn stir-fry, morning glory and pad grapao with a fried egg cover the land-based side of the menu. The prawn soup is a big, filling bowl, while mango sticky rice finishes dinner properly.
Plastic chairs face the road, scooters pass close enough to provide the evening soundtrack, and the room has none of the beach-club theatre. Bring your own beer or wine; no alcohol is sold here. The kitchen cooks at its own pace during a packed service, because grilled fish does not respond well to motivational speeches.
Jadoy suits diners after straightforward Thai seafood at local prices, with big portions and no interest in polishing the experience into a postcard. Fresh fish in lime sauce is the dish to remember, especially with rice catching every last sharp, salty spoonful.
